That's Wylde: Kylee Recycles

Recycling is everywhere today, as is evident from the bottles we buy water and soda in, to the music we hear on the internet and radio (how many times has disco come back to haunt me in "new" hip-hop tracks?). The future of our planet depends on us being more responsible as far as waste is concerned, and recycling is a big part of it. But recycling doesn't just stop at newspapers, plastic bottles and hip-hop. You can have fun while saving the Earth as well! Check this out:

A company called Radiant Ideas recycles spoons into refrigerator magnets! How Cute is that?

Sandy Schimmel creates works of art using recycled junk mail and post cards. The premise is simple, turn unwanted mail into beautiful art. These works are going to set you back about $2000 - $4000 though. Ouch!

Heather Jansch creates astonishingly life-like animals such as these horses out of recycled driftwood and bronze! I want a couple of these for my backyard.

Ruth Waddy is modeling her creation, made out of recycled materials. This swanky get up is sure to turn some heads! Oops, don't look now Ruth, but your bubble wrap slip is showing!

Fashion designer China Hamilton answers the age-old question, what do you do when the elastic in your stockings wears out? The answer: hold those puppies up with twist ties! Yes, this outfit was made from items set to end up in a landfill. Very funky! I like it!

GaryHarvey, former Creative Director for Levi Strauss, designed this gown. Yay for recycling, but it's not exactly the ideal outfit for, say, attending a bonfire.

Sony has even jumped on the recycling band wagon with this new "green" laptop made with recycled CDs and plastic bottles. I suppose it's cool to go green, but did they have to do it so literally? Mad respect for recycling, but the green tint does nothing to turn this girl on. Give me some skull and cross bone, broken heart and spike designs mixed with some hot pink and black, then I might shell out the cash for your new gadget!

Recycling can be a great way to express your creative side. Just ask Dane Cook! That guy's been recycling jokes for years! (What, you think only Gimme Your Hand BOYS can take cheap shots? LOL)

Thanks for checking out my very first post on gimmeyourhand.com! I'm excited to be on board. Next time, I might have to step it up a little and be more risqué. I can't have Rex and Donnie outdoing me in the attitude department all the time. =)

Until next time, remember to help keep our planet beautiful!

Be Blessed,
Kylee
